This blog we are going to talk about Zimbabwe in Africa. They have quite a few traditional foods there. ONe of there main foods is called sadza and is a cornmeal based food, they mostly serve it with relish and slow cooked meats. It is cooked almost like porridge. They like to eat corn on the cob, peanuts, beans butternut squash, and also avacado. Meat and game is for special occasions such as holidays. At very expensive restraunts they will serve crocidile tail, warthog and also antelope. In the dry summer they serve dried worms and flying ants by the pound.

I wonder if they season the worms and ants? I don't think I could eat them. I know in parts of Mexico they eat these little red grasshoppers called chapulines. Sounds gross, but it is their culture!

Dear Readers,
ReplyDeleteIf you read the post above I said they make sadza. I made sadza with the recipe link to my left. It was pretty discusting and just tasted like gritz. Next time I make it I will try to make it with meat because it is no good plain. IF you make it to eat plain I would recomend to add sugar or sweetners.
